Jdbg.com is the personal website, webworld, portfolio and a place to show off for Jordan "Jd" Hlebarov. It's purpose is to bring about to the general public what Jordan's daily thoughts and as he calls them "mindabouts", as well as to serve as a humble showcase of Jordan's work and publications.
The name of the site - "Jdbg.com" comes from the nickname of the person behind it - Jordan's high school nickname (and actually the alias by which most people know him) is Jd. Since Jordan comes from Sofia, Bulgaria and the country code abbreviation is bg - that's how the name "Jdbg" came to life. Kind of lacking the charisma and trilling story you thought the domain name would have, but that's it. Sorry.
Jdbg.com, as original concept, was started back in 1998 when its URL was http://jdh.hit.bg. Since there have been about 11 different versions. Currently, you are looking at the latest, version 11. Basically, Jd does a facelift of the site whenever he gets some fresh ideas and... ah yes - the time for such an endeavor. And he likes green - the past three visual version have been all in green... as you see with the one you are looking at.
The website adheres to the valid XHTML/CSS standards. Speaking of techincal details, the whole website is hand-coded because Jd does not believe in WYSIWYG editors (besides the web 2.0 ones, which are online-based). The blog is powered by Wordpress.
Moving from the technical to the visual part of the website. The typography: you already saw the website (since you are reading this text), and from that you might have guessed Jd's favorite web typefaces - Arial and Helvetica and of course the omnipresent Verdana. Headings are created with the beautiful Fontin typeface.
Since Jordan believes in the philosophy of open source, most of the content on this website is licensed under the Creative Commons 2.5 license. Please do have this in mind that with this license some rights are reserved, so please read the license.
The Mindabouts - Jd's personal blog - reflects Jd's daily experience with various things. The photoblog section of the blog consists of photos taken with Jd's mobile - the lovely Sony Ericsson K800i. If you like to use any of the photos, please contact Jd first.
Thank you for reading the colophon!
